Pichwai is a famous art form of Rajasthan. It originated in Nathdwara town in the 17th century. The word Pichwai is form from two words, “Pich” meaning back, and “Wai” meaning hanging. These paintings were traditionally used for decorating the backdrop of the deity Shrinathji in the famous Nathdwara temple.
